Abstract
The isolates (from lucerne in Stellenbosch and ladino white clover in Pretoria) were characterised with regard to host range and symptomatology, in vitro physical properties, in vivo aggregation forms, serological relationships, particle morphology, molecular mass of the coat protein subunits and the RNA molecular masses. They were identified as minor variants of AMV, designated AMV-SA (Stellenbosch) and AMV-SA (82/8)
