I joined the FMG-EPPI (Forest Molecular Genetics-Eucalyptus and Pine Pathogen Interactions) group at FABI in 2022. I hold a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and a Master's degree in Biotechnology. Presently, I am pursuing my PhD in Genetics, furthering my research expertise.
My Masters thesis delved into the molecular basis of Eucalyptus resistance against , a significant leaf pathogen. Building on this knowledge, my ongoing PhD research aims to identify quantitative trait loci (QTLs) in that confer resistance to this pathogen, contributing to genetic improvement strategies in forestry. This is under the supervision of Prof. Sanushka Naidoo and Dr. Myriam Solis.
