After obtaining a BSc. degree in Microbiology, I continued with my post graduate studies and did an Honours degree in Plant Biotechnology. The research conducted during my Honours project involved characterisation of a wound inducible cystatin in maize. My MSc study investigated the use of transgenic expressing tobacco plants in enhancing recombinant protein production. My current PhD research focuses on the phenotypic and molecular characterization of efficient nitrogen fixation and nodule functioning for Merr.soybean)crop improvement under water limiting conditions.
