The Molecular Plant-Pathogen Interactions  (MPPI) research group led by Prof. Dave Berger is affiliated with the Forestry and Agricultural Biotechnology Institute (FABI) and the Department of Plant & Soil Sciences at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.  

The MPPI research group has an on-going research project on grey leaf spot (GLS) disease of maize caused by the fungal pathogen Cercospora zeina.  GLS is a threat to food security in sub-Saharan Africa.

A Postdoctoral Fellowship to investigate RNAi in C. zeina is available from January 2020 (see attached advert for more details). Applications should be addressed to [email protected] .
